Job Description:

We are seeking a Quality Assurance Technician to help ensure that all products are safe, legal and made to the highest quality, ensuring that all customer and legislative requirements are adhered to at all times. This role involves driving continuous improvements on the factory floor and ensuring that key KPI measures are met or exceeded through thorough audit and investigation processes.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Follow all the Company's Health & Safety rules and guidelines at all times.
  • Identify and maintain compliance with retailer codes of practice through gap analysis and factory work, including auditing.
  • Assist in the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality and HACCP systems.
  • Undertake project work as required.
  • Maintain calibration schedule and ensure completion.
  • Assist the Process team to ensure paperwork and systems are in place ahead of launch on new products, and ensure safety, legality and quality of all products (new and upgraded).
  • Implement and review updates from customers through the retailer systems. Carry out gap analysis when required to ensure full compliance with all COPs and legislative requirements.
  • Investigate complaints and incidents when required, ensuring the root cause is identified.
  • Manage reduction plans, e.g. complaints, ensuring key KPIs are met or exceeded.
  • Carry out supplier audits if required.
  • Undertake internal audits which are thoroughly completed to an agreed schedule, ensuring that they are detailed and any actions arising from them are communicated, followed up and closed out with the relevant owner within agreed timescales.
  • Be an active member of the HACCP team.
  • Assist in customer visits and audits, and close out any non-conformances arising in a timely manner as agreed.
  • Assist in factory trials on new products and any changes to the product or process.
  • Conduct and attend taste panels on site, and with customers when required. This will include shelf-life evaluation, verification and validation.
  • Inspect raw materials on intake according to a schedule and authorise release. Additionally, quarantining and controlling any non-conforming stock and ensuring correct follow-up.
  • Check and approve printed packaging deliveries when required.
  • Undertake daily, weekly, and monthly audits — glass, GMP, etc.

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of HACCP and factory QMS gained through a similar role in the food industry.
  • Level 2 HACCP and Level 3 Food Safety.
  • Qualifications: Level 3 HACCP desirable.
  • Good IT literacy and experience of Muddy Boots, EQMS, Hamilton Grant and SAP.
  • Internal audit qualification as a minimum.
  • Ability to multitask.
  • Good team player.
  • Organised.
  • Good communicator at all levels.
