Job Description:

To ensure that all products are safe and legal and made to the highest quality. Ensuring that all customer and legislative requirements are always adhered to. Driving continuous improvements in the factory and ensuring that key KPI measures are met or exceeded, through thorough audit and investigation processes. To collaboratively work with the operations team to improve standards and forge strong working relationships.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

  • Always follow all the Company’s Health & Safety rules and guidelines
  • Supporting the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality and HACCP systems, to include the updating and creation of procedures
  • Undertaking project work as required by the business
  • Support in the management of the sites calibration schedule and ensure completion to this schedule
  • Ensure paperwork and systems are in place ahead of launch on new products, and ensure safety, legality, and quality of all products (new and upgraded)
  • Investigate complaints and incidents when required ensuring root cause is identified and actions taken and recorded, to include responses to internal and external customers
  • Maintain the sites AutoCoding and Plant-Stats system including troubleshooting
  • Manage the sites EQMS system (Electronic Quality Management System)
  • Support the management of reduction plans e.g., complaints, ensuring key KPI’s are met or exceeded for the site
  • Carry out routine and adhoc traceability and mass balance exercises to be completed in accordance with specific customer requirements
  • Carry out training against documented procedures, including the delivery of factory CCP training.
  • Undertake internal audits which are thoroughly completed to an agreed schedule, ensuring that they are detailed and any actions arising from them are communicated, followed up and closed out with the relevant owner to agreed timescales
  • Undertake codes of practice audits in line with schedule
  • Carry out CCP validation & verification against a schedule
  • Carry out cleaning validation and verifications (Microbiological and allergen)
  • Support customer visits and audits and support the close out of any non-conformances arising in a timely manner as agreed utilizing the teams on site
  • Assist in factory trials on new products, and any changes to product or process
  • Check and approve printed packaging deliveries when required
  • Technical KPI reporting
  • Conduct daily taste panel and record findings with follow up if required

Experience / Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have the following experience and personal attributes:

  • High standard of GMP and the ability to challenge effectively
  • Level 3 HACCP and Food Safety Qualifications
  • Experience of MS Office or similar systems
  • Experience of MRP/ERP Systems, Electronic Quality Management Systems and web-based specification systems is preferred
  • Formal Internal Audit qualification
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good team player, demonstrating coaching qualities
  • Organised and able to prioritise workload
  • Good communicator at all levels – including the ability to formally communicate comprehensively in written and spoken English
  • Able to work autonomously and make informed decisions regarding quality challenges
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment

Additional Information:

Working patterns; Monday to Thursday, 15:30 – 23:30 and Fridays, 14:00 – 22:00
